Security is also a concern as Francis prepares to visit Kenya, Uganda and the Central African Republic next week (November 25-30). Despite more than 11,000 UN troops and police in the Central African Republic, violence between Christians and Muslims continues in the capital city of Bangui and elsewhere. As of now, Francis is scheduled to visit a mosque in one of Bangui’s most dangerous districts. The former French colony descended into interreligious violence two-and-a-half years ago.
