\"\"<\/a>Sr. Mary John Meyer’s Paschal Candle Cinnamon Rolls<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ingredients for rolls:<\/strong><\/p>\n

2 c. milk
\n\u2021 c. mashed potatoes
\n7 c. flour
\n\u2021 c. sugar (for sugar-free recipe, substitute 1 tsp. of honey to activate yeast)
\n2 tbsp. yeast
\n3 eggs
\n\u2021 c. oil
\n2 tsp. salt
\n30 – 36 6 oz. tin cans<\/p>\n

Ingredients for cinnamon mixture:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1\/2 c. butter, melted
\n1 c. sugar
\n1 c. brown sugar
\n3 Tbsp. cinnamon<\/p>\n

Ingredients for topping:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Powdered sugar frosting
\n30 – 36 dried apricots
\n30 – 36 wooden toothpicks<\/p>\n

Heat milk and mashed potatoes in saucepan over 120 degrees for about 3 minutes.<\/p>\n

Add 3 c. flour, sugar and yeast to milk\/potato mixture and beat.<\/p>\n

Add eggs, oil, salt, and remaining flour. Add additional flour if necessary until dough clears side of the bowl.<\/p>\n

Place dough in a greased bowl, cover with tea towel, and let rise in warm place until dough doubles in size. Usually about 1 hour.<\/p>\n

Pummel down and let rise another \u2021 hour.<\/p>\n

Roll half of dough into a rectangle, spread melted butter over dough and sprinkle with sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon.<\/p>\n

Roll into a cylinder shape and cut into pieces.<\/p>\n

Place each piece in a greased can so roll will bake into shape of a short candle.<\/p>\n

Bake in 350 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until tops of rolls become light brown.<\/p>\n

Remove rolls from cans to cool.<\/p>\n

Repeat with remaining dough.<\/p>\n

After all the rolls are baked and have cooled, dribble with frosting over top to resemble candle wax (for sugar-free recipe, eliminate frosting).<\/p>\n

Spear dried apricot with toothpick and insert into top of roll to resemble a candle flame.<\/p>\n
