BAKER<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Executive Producer<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"team-bio\">\n<p class=\"bio-p\">Dr. Baker directs the Bernard L. Schwartz Center for Media, Public Policy &amp; Education at Fordham University.\u00a0 He is also a Distinguished Professor of management at IESE Business School, Barcelona, Spain, and President Emeritus of WNET-Thirteen, New York\u2019s public television station.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bio-p\">During his 21 year tenure as president of WNET in New York, America\u2019s flagship public broadcaster, Baker raised over one billion dollars for the station.\u00a0 As a commercial broadcaster, Baker helped start many cable networks, launched both Oprah Winfrey and Charlie Rose, and helped start the Discovery Channel and the Disney Channel.\u00a0 He was president of Westinghouse Television and Chairman of Group W Satellite Communication.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bio-p\">He is the recipient of seven Emmy Awards, two Columbia Dupont Journalism Awards, and is the executive producer of the theatrical film and PBS documentary, <em>The Face: Jesus in Art<\/em>.\u00a0 He is co-author of the book <em>Leading with Kindness<\/em> (American Management Association, 2008) and hosts the series of the same name on public television.\u00a0 Baker is also the co-author of <em>Every Leader is an Artist <\/em>(McGraw-Hill, 2012), and <em>Down the Tube: An Insider\u2019s Account of the Failure of American Television<\/em> (Basic Books, 1998).<\/p>\n<p class=\"bio-p\">He holds a B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University, and seven honorary doctorates from universities in America and Europe. His interests include astronomy, horology, and polar science, and he is believed to be the eighth person in history to have stood on both the North and South Poles.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-top: 2em;\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-179\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/wnet\/sacred\/files\/2016\/11\/Stephen-Segaller-2128R1-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"Stephen Segaller\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><strong>STEPHEN SEGALLER<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Executive in Charge<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"team-bio\">\n<p class=\"bio-p\">Stephen Segaller oversees all national programming from WNET\u2019s producing subsidiaries \u2013 THIRTEEN, WLIW21 and Creative News Group. Among these productions are: <strong><em>Nature<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>Great Performances<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>American Masters<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>Secrets of the Dead<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>PBS NewsHour Weekend<\/em><\/strong><em>,<\/em> <strong><em>Religion &amp; Ethics Newsweekly<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>Cyberchase<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>NYCArts<\/em><\/strong>, and <strong><em>Reel 13<\/em><\/strong><em>; <\/em>and documentary series featuring Niall Ferguson, Simon Schama and Alan Alda among others<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"bio-p\">At WNET, he has executive-produced PBS documentary series such <strong>as <\/strong><strong><em>Ascent of Money<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>The War of the World<\/em><\/strong>, both with Niall Ferguson; <strong><em>Extreme Oil<\/em><\/strong>; <strong><em>Red Gold: The Epic Story of Blood<\/em><\/strong>; individual documentaries such as <strong><em>Srebrenica \u2013 A Cry From The Grave<\/em><\/strong>; David Grubin\u2019s <strong><em>Kofi Annan: Center of the Storm<\/em><\/strong>; Walter Cronkite\u2019s last two documentaries <strong><em>C<\/em><em><strong>i<\/strong>ty At War: London Calling<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>Legacy of War<\/em><\/strong>; the films of Frederick Wiseman; films by Roger Weisberg including the Academy Award-nominated <strong><em>Sound and Fury<\/em><\/strong><strong>; <\/strong><strong><em>Worse Than War<\/em><\/strong> with Daniel Goldhagen, directed by Mike DeWitt; <strong><em>Orchestra of Exiles<\/em><\/strong> by Josh Aronson; <strong><em>It\u2019s A Hard Knock Life: Annie<\/em><\/strong> by Joshua Seftel; and <strong><em>Shakespeare Uncovered<\/em><\/strong><em>, <\/em>produced by Richard Denton. This unique series brings the personal passions of its celebrated hosts to tell the stories behind Shakespeare\u2019s greatest plays.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bio-p\">He created the international documentary series <strong><em>Wide Angle<\/em><\/strong> and the investigative journalism series <strong><em>Expos\u0113<\/em><\/strong> for PBS. In 2011, he was Executive-in-charge of the multiple award-winning documentary series <strong><em>Women, War &amp; Peace<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 produced by Abigail\u00a0Disney, Gini Reticker and Pamela Hogan &#8211; the first series ever to consider war, conflict and peacemaking from the point of view of women as combatants, casualties and peacemakers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"overflow: hidden;\">Since 2010 Segaller has developed and launched several multi-platform reporting initiatives, distributed on national and local television, on public radio, and online. <strong><em>Blueprint America<\/em><\/strong> explored the national infrastructure crisis across 20 hours of content. <strong><em>Chasing the Dream<\/em><\/strong>, an exploration of poverty, income inequality and opportunity, is in production in 2015, and includes national primetime documentaries, local coverage, online webisodes, and collaboration with the public radio series, <strong><em>On The Media<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bio-p\">In 2013, Segaller helped oversee the expansion of the <strong><em>PBS NewsHour<\/em><\/strong> broadcast tradition with a <strong><em>PBS NewsHour Weekend<\/em><\/strong> newscast on both Saturday and Sunday. The half-hour program is anchored by Hari Sreenivasan and produced at the Tisch WNET Studios at Lincoln Center.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"margin-top: 2em;\">\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-181\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/wnet\/sacred\/files\/2016\/12\/julie-anderson-bw-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"julie-anderson\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><strong>JULIE ANDERSON<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Executive Producer<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"team-bio\">\n<p class=\"bio-p\">Julie Anderson is an independent filmmaker and producer. She was the Executive Producer of Documentaries and Development at WNET from 2012-2017. In that role, she was responsible for creating groundbreaking and innovative programming for PBS national broadcasts. Prior to WNET, Anderson was as a producer for HBO Documentary Films where she oversaw all aspects of production. As a filmmaker in her own right, she was nominated for the 2012 Academy Award for best short film for \u201cGod Is The Bigger Elvis.\u201d She was the Supervising Producer of the Academy Award winning short film, \u201cBig Mama,\u201d and has won a combined five Emmy awards as a producer and director for ESPN, HBO Sports and HBO Documentary Films.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bio-p\">She is the creator and was the executive producer of CNN\u2019s iReport Film Festival. She is also co-creator and was executive producer of ESPN\u2019s 60-minute magazine series, E:60 and is the creator, and former executive producer for BET\u2019s 60-minute talk show, Meet the Faith. She created the award-winning series Sportsfigures for ESPN, which ran for almost a decade. Anderson wrote and directed featured stories for five Olympic Games, College Footage, Grand Slam Tennis, championship boxing, World Cup Soccer and more.
