Wen says he anticipates that China\u2019s economy will grow by 8 percent in 2009.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In response to the International Criminal Court&#8217;s indictment of Sudan\u2019s president, Omar al-Bashir, Sudan <a href=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/stories\/200903050698.html\" target=\"_blank\">expelled ten aid agencies<\/a> from the country including Doctors Without Borders, CARE and Oxfam. The African Union says that it will send a delegation to the ICC to request a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.africasia.com\/services\/news\/newsitem.php?area=africa&amp;item=090305141732.yzz2vaqs.php\" target=\"_blank\">one-year suspension<\/a> of the indictment to \u201cgive a chance for peace in Sudan.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The European Central Bank <a href=\"http:\/\/www.irishtimes.com\/newspaper\/breaking\/2009\/0305\/breaking10.htm\" target=\"_blank\">cuts interest rates to 1.5%<\/a>, the lowest in the bank\u2019s ten year history. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/business\/2009\/mar\/05\/interest-rates-quantitative-easing\" target=\"_blank\">The Bank of England of England<\/a> cuts interest rates to a record low of 0.5%.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao announces an unprecedented stimulus package &#8212; 4-trillion yuan (585.5 billion U.S.dollars) over the next two years &#8212; to combat the impact of the global economic crisis.
