Meet Joab from Kenya, Shugufa from Afghanistan, Raluca from Romania, Jefferson from Brazil, Neeraj from India, Ken from Japan, and Nanavi from Benin. Now, 15-year-old Joab is the head of his household in Kibera, the largest slum in Nairobi, Kenya. The usual path for girls her age is to be initiated into the traditional voodoo convent and readied for marriage.
