Pakistani Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud reportedly survives the attack on his military compound in the region <a href=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/english.aljazeera.net\/news\/asia\/2009\/07\/20097784914231489.html\">where top Al Qaeda leaders are believed to be hiding<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Eleven NATO soldiers, <a href=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/edition.cnn.com\/2009\/WORLD\/asiapcf\/07\/07\/afghanistan.troops.deaths\/index.html\">seven Americans, two Canadians and one Briton<\/a>, die in four separate incidents in Afghanistan in two days. Ten deaths on Monday make it the deadliest day for the NATO and U.S.-led coalitions in nearly a year.<\/p>\n<p>The day before the commencement of the 2009 Group of Eight (G8) Summit in <span class=\"DetaildSuammary\">L&#8217;Aquila, Italy <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/www.ansa.it\/site\/notizie\/awnplus\/english\/news\/2009-07-07_107389376.html\">ten people are arrested and at least thirty people are detained<\/a> in an anti-capitalist protest. Rioters set fires and create roadblocks in the Italian capital of Rome.<\/p>\n<p>Riots continue in the Chinese city of Urumqi as police clash with hundreds of Han Chinese who are wielding weapons. Police <a href=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/news.xinhuanet.com\/english\/2009-07\/07\/content_11664739.htm\">arrest 1,434 in connection with Sunday evening&#8217;s riot<\/a> and impose a <a href=\"http:\/\/http:\/\/news.xinhuanet.com\/english\/2009-07\/07\/content_11668519.htm\">&#8220;comprehensive traffic control&#8221; for Tuesday night<\/a> in order to prevent further ethnic violence between the Han Chinese and Muslim Uighurs that has already resulted in 156 deaths and at least 1,000 injuries.<\/p>\n<p><span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At least 16 people die when an American drone missile strikes a Pakistani Taliban training camp in the Zangara area of South Waziristan.
