What does it mean to be an American?
What holds us together? What pulls us apart?
What is our common ground?
Welcome to the Website for TALK TO ME: Americans in Conversation, the PBS Democracy Project television program. We hope you've seen our broadcast if not, you may want to check the TALK TO ME broadcast dates calendar for upcoming air dates around the country.
TALK TO ME is part of A More Perfect Union, a media education project that looks at what it means to be American today and how we talk about it. We hope you'll take some time to explore the whole TALK TO ME - A More Perfect Union site. There's a lot here for anyone interested in starting a conversation about these issues, or just talking about it informally with your friends. For instance, there's a comprehensive resource guide and discussion manual, and a short conversation organizers' guide specifically for use with TALK TO ME.
TALK TO ME: Americans in Conversation is part of the National Endowment for the Humanities' National Conversation on American Pluralism and Identity. To find out more about TALK TO ME and the National Conversation, call 1-800-NEH-1121 and to make sure you receive the right information, mention the program when you call.
And let us hear from you! We'd like this Website to be a conversation, too. We'll read and respond to your comments, and might include them here in our soon-to-come "viewers' comments" page.
Thanks for your interest in TALK TO ME and A More Perfect Union.
