Support Your Local Public Television Station

When The Civil War originally premiered in September 1990, the response was phenomenal and the series became a national viewing event. The Civil War remains the highest-rated program in PBS history. That original broadcast was only possible because of the generous support of public television viewers.

Beginning September 22, 2002, twelve years after the film premiered, PBS will rebroadcast this landmark series in its entirety complete with digitally remastered images and audio. Once more it is the support of our audience that brings this important television series to PBS.
