right received the commission to build the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City in 1943, which would eventually house Guggenheim’s collection which consisted mainly of what curator Hilla Rebay, termed non objective art, that is art which spoke through the universal language of abstract color, line and form. This new art demanded a radically different kind of space and thinking. Here, where Central Park meets the Upper East Side, Wright provided that space in architecture which appears as pure geometry: surface, volume and space.
