About ITVS Community
The Independent Television Service (ITVS) is the co-producing partner with PBS of the Emmy-winning Independent Lens television series. Using select Independent Lens programs, ITVS Community brings the “film festival in your living room” into the community, working closely with leading local, regional and national organizations, and public television stations, supported by a team of regional outreach coordinators.
ITVS Community produces the monthly Independent Lens screening series, Community Cinema, in key markets across the country; creates outreach and educational materials; organizes campaigns, activities and other special events; and builds coalitions that help communities and public television connect with resources for education, engagement, and positive change.
