We invite you to respond to the questions below or add your comments. Selected submissions will be posted on our Talkback page, so check back regularly and join the discussion.

  • The parrots in the film seem to share human emotions such as loneliness, love or grief. Do you think animals have a consciousness that can be described in human terms?

  • Some naturalists believe that because the Telegraph Hill parrots are non-native to the U.S., they upset the balance of the San Francisco habitat and are bad for the local ecosystem. Others say that these parrots are not a threat because they donŐt steal, create food shortage or attack other local species of birds. What do you think? Should non-native species be removed or allowed to co-exist?

  • Have you spotted parrot flocks in the city where you live? If so, what types and in what settings?
