Well, our sense of security was wiped out. Totally and utterly wiped out.
We suddenly realized how close terror can strike to home. And I'll tell
you something. Once something like this happens so close to you, where you
actually see the planes in the sky flying RIGHT over your school building,
you gain a greater understanding for others in similar situations.
Whenever you watch an event on the news of something that occurred in a
completely different part of the world from you, usually you are affected
for like
5 seconds. Then you go on with your life. "That's horrible
that this building got blown up, but I've got a physics test tomorrow."
It sounds horrible, but it's true. The event, when viewed on the news, seems
so distant, so far away. Well, I don't get that feeling any more, I can
tell you that.
