Meet the Expedition Team
Chuck Davis, Director of Photography
From the freezing climes of Antarctica and Greenland to the heat and humidity of the Amazon, Chuck Davis has traveled the globe making films. He's a specialist in filming on, under and around aquatic environments, and he has been diving for over 30 years. With his films, he hopes to stimulate marine environmental awareness and conservation. Working with Jean-Michel Cousteau and his father, Capt. Jacques Cousteau, Chuck's assignments over the past 20 years have included some 17 filming expeditions worldwide for the Cousteau Society television programs as expedition photographer and cinematographer aboard the Alcyone and the Calypso and with special flying teams. Chuck brings to the Ocean Adventures "X" Team a wealth of expertise gained through his award-winning work on network television documentaries, theatrical movies and television commercials. He was behind the camera for two Academy Award-nominated IMAX films and a special dome-theater production for the Smithsonian's National Museum for the American Indian. Chuck holds degrees in fisheries biology from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst and in filmmaking from the Brooks Institute of Photographic Art and Science in Santa Barbara, California.
