Meet the Expedition Team
Yves Lefevre, Underwater Cameraman/Shark Expert
Ever since he learned how to dive at age 13, Yves Lefevre has rarely been out of the water. In 1983, a visit to French Polynesia convinced him to return there two years later and start the Manta Ray Club, the first dive shop in the Tutamoto archipelago. The site was a haven for more than a dozen species of sharks, and Yves became an expert in the dangerous world of sharks. During his career, he's captured underwater images for Jacques Cousteau, Peter Benchley and Jean-Michel Cousteau. This time around, he was a trusted colleague on Jean-Michel's Ocean Adventures team, going face-to-face with the ocean's top predator.
