SDPB and the Wild Burro Writer's Group will be hosting a writer's workshop on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Mount Rushmore National Memorial. The workshop, held in Theater B from 1:00-4:30 p.m., will feature two presentations by locally and nationally-acclaimed writers. The first presenter will be Jace DeCory, an instructor of Indian Studies at Black Hills State University and an enrolled member of the Lakota tribe, who will speak about writing and oral histories. The second presenter will be Dayton Duncan, co-producer and writer of several documentaries by Ken Burns, including the upcoming series, "The National Parks: America's Best Idea." He will speak about the research and writing process he uses for non-fiction works and for film. Attendees will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
