Yasmin comes from Coral Bay, Western Australia which is located in the heart of the Ningaloo Reef region. The Ningaloo Reef consists of 220 species of Coral and 500 species of Fish. She has been working in her families business, Coral Bay Adventures, that specializes in marine life interactions with manta rays, dugongs, humpback whales and the whale sharks. Yasmin worked in various roles including a Deckhand, Hostess, Swimmer and Videographer of the Marine Life.
In addition, Yasmin worked in conjunction with Ecocean researching sharks and rays aiding in the establishment of a future universal library for Whale Shark identification. Also she served as a research assistant for Center for Whale Research Western Australia which focused on on Pygmy Blue Whales and Humpback Whales.
Being onboard the R/V Odyssey, Yasmin has come to learn more about the sailing of the vessel, the operations of the 5 year global expedition while understanding more how cetaceans and other marine species are affected globally by impacts of humanity.
