U.S. Army Artist- Yank Magazine
U.S. Army Center for Military History Washington, D.C.
An artist can sit back at his drawing board and draw any darn thing he thinks about, you know. Say Draw me a picture of a war, and you can sit back in your desk somewhere and draw a picture of a war or something. But the artist has his duty to draw what he actually sees, and if he doesn't see it, he's not entitled to draw it. That's the way I feel.
