After
graduating from Loyola University, Raul Davalos attended the London International
Film School (1977-1978). He began his career as a film editor in Miami,
Florida, on a television show, The Best, for which he received
regional Emmy Award recognition for outstanding editing.
Raul
moved to Los Angeles in 1983 and continued his feature career assisting
editor Richard Chew on the Ivan Passer film, Creator, starring
Peter O'Toole. He assisted Carol Littleton on Silverado, Vibes, The
Accidental Tourist, China Moon and White Palace. Raul also worked
with Carol as associate film editor on Benny & Joon and Lawrence
Kasdan's Wyatt Earp.
Raul's
credits as editor also include Cronos, which won the 1992 Cannes
Film Festival's Semaine de la Critique critic's award; Destiny Turns
on the Radio starring Quentin Tarantino and Dylan McDermott; and
as additional editor on Paulie for Dreamworks SKG.
Raul's latest project is Blue Ridge Fall starring Amy Irving,
Tom Arnold, Peter Facinelli, and Chris Isaak which premiered at the
1999 L.A. Independent Film Festival.
Raul
was born in Havana, Cuba and currently lives in Los Angeles with his
wife Petra and their two children, Alma and Alexander.
