6. ADD A TOPIC

When your dialogue group is just getting under way, you will probably want to add a new topic to the dialogue. You can also add a new topic later on in the discussion, but you should only create a new topic when you are actually proposing a new topic. (If you would like to comment on an existing topic, you can add a post to that topic without creating a new topic.)

Step 1

Please be sure to read the instructions at the top of the page. When you have done so, select a title for your topic. Enter it in the field marked "Message Subject". This title will be displayed throughout the dialogue to reference this topic.

Step 2

Type your message into the field marked "Message". You can make it as brief as you like, but be sure to include enough information to get other people thinking and to generate thoughtful replies. Unfortunately, you cannot make the post any longer than 2,000 characters. (That's about four average size paragraphs.) Remember, you are always free to post more later and to comment on your group members' replies.

Step 3

Click on "Create Topic". Your message will be posted immediately. Your post will be numbered, and it will be displayed along with the time and date you submitted it and a link to your bio. You will have the option to review your post and make changes. You will also have the option to delete it. Once you have left this page, however, you will not be able to go back at a later date to make changes or delete.
