The Black Hills, as
filmed by the makers of THE WEST. Rich in game and mystery, the Black
Hills were sacred to a succession of Plains tribes who fought to control
them. The discovery of gold near here in 1874
touched off a stampede of white settlers that led to a climactic war
between the United States and the Lakotas.
