The Dakotas

Established in 1866, Fort Buford was strategically located in the heart of the Lakota buffalo hunting grounds. As a young man, Sitting Bull harrassed the fortís builders with a band of warriors, and it was at Fort Buford that he finally surrendered in 1881.
