Mountain Meadows as
filmed by the makers of THE WEST. The area was an important resting
stop where travelers following the Old Spanish Trail from Santa Fe
could graze their livestock and refresh themselves. But in 1857
it became the site of a massacre when a group of Mormons led by John
D. Lee murdered 120 emigrants whom they suspected of posing a
threat to their Church.
