Cheyenne women dressing buffalo hides

5.6 Two Cheyenne women dressing buffalo hides outside their camp in 1878. The buffalo was the basis of life for the people of the Plains and its destruction by buffalo hunters in the 1870's and 1880's played a fundamental part in their ultimate subjugation.
