What is a Vodcast?

Vodcast combines the terms iPod and video broadcast to describe a series of video files, which download to the computer and are playable on both the computer and a portable video playing device.

You acquire a Vodcast by subscribing to its "feed", which then delivers video episodes on a regular or irregular schedule (basically whenever a new episode becomes available). You may then watch the delivered episodes via computer whenever you want, or, if you offload the episodes to a video iPod or other portable device, wherever you want.

Do I have to pay for a Vodcast?

While most Vodcasts are free, some are not. Our Vodcasts are completely free.

How do I get started?

To get our Vodcast series you will need software that can automatically manage the subscription process and the periodic downloading of episodes and also play the episodes via a Vodcast-capable player. iTunes and WinAmp are both examples of downloadable software applications that can handle all these tasks on either Windows or Macintosh systems.

To subscribe to a Vodcast, open a program like WinAmp or the latest version of iTunes, follow the instructions and paste the appropriate feed URL (as listed above) where asked.

Next time you sync your iPod or other portable player with your computer, the latest Caring for Your Parents episode will be there automatically, and you'll be able to watch wherever you go.
