Finding Darwin's God: The New Battle over Evolution
Divide students into groups and have them read and summarize a section of Dr. Kenneth Miller's keynote address from the University of Kansas April 2000 Evolution Teach-in.

Inherit the Wind v. the Scopes Trial
Show the movie Inherit the Wind in class. Ask students to compare the facts from the real trial with the events in the movie. If you want additional background information, you may want to read the book Summer for the Gods: The Scopes Trial and America's Continuing Debate over Science and Religion by Edward J. Larson published by Harvard University Press in 1998.
