Before Watching
-
Announce to the class that scientists have found a human fossil
that dates back to the age of the dinosaurs. Ask students how
they would go about verifying this discovery, which contradicts
scientific theories about human evolution. If later scientific
tests contradict this finding, how might the class determine
which finding to believe?
-
This program presents individuals who approach the question of
psychic phenomena in different ways. Ask students to take notes
as they watch about the type of evidence that different people
need to support their beliefs about psychic phenomena.
After Watching
-
Ask students to discuss the different perspectives that people
in the program have about psychic phenomena. What are the
reasons that each person gives to support a particular
perspective? Is there any information given that establishes the
person as a reliable expert on the topic? Does his or her
expertise justify the opinions expressed?
