Jackie Evancho: Dream with Me in Concert
Jackie Evancho sings "Angel"

Watch Jackie Evancho perform Sarah McLachlan’s song “Angel” for the GREAT PERFORMANCES Jackie Evancho: Dream with Me in Concert. The concert is telecast throughout June, 2011 on PBS stations (check local listings).

Can’t wait for this little Angel’s special. Should be a feast to the ears and eyes.

  • Tom Warthen

Agree. It is not just that Jackie has an angelic voice, but also that, at 11, she is naturally articulate and genuinely sweet and charming. The rendition of the songs she performs are not just pleasant, but mechanical sounds from a beautiful voice, but she does also convey an emotional understanding of the words. For one so young, it is hard to believe. Several times a day now I go back to her PBS Great Performances of Angel. Selfishly, I want Jackie to sing and sing and sing, so I can listen and watch and listen and watch.
God bless this talented angel and watch over her.

    Bonne continuation
    Tu est une STAR

Jackie Evancho is truly God sent. Thank you PBS for this very special treat and thank you David Foster for your brilliance.

It’s very rare when a little gifted 11-year old as Jackie can bring such a joyful, peaceful awakening to this troubled world. Amen and God Bless Jackie and David!

  • Orfield

Beautiful voice. I guess I just find it uncomfortable to hear such a wee one singing such an adult song…”from this dark, cold hotel room”. the mom in me says ‘wait to grow up’.

  • Mary Ann

I attended Jackie’s Great Performances concert with David Foster and friends in the courtyard of the Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, Florida. It was a perfect enchanted evening, and I wanted to hear Jackie sing all night long. We loved her.

  • Joan

Lovely. I can’t wait for the DVD.

  • Jack Conway

I saw her on PBS GREAT PERFORMANCES /Jackie Evancho thid evening and it was outstanding; thank you.

  • Debra Hernandez

Wow! What a voice! That little one has got a great future ahead of her! I, too, am looking forward to the release of the CD.

  • Rita

Every time I hear this little angel, I get chill bumps! She just keeps getting better and better…and I thought she was fantastic when I first heard her!

  • Patti

When this child opens her heart and lets the beautiful music float out, it fills my soul. I followed her through the Idol series and felt that she should have won, but she , really, didn’t need to win. She is a winner to all who listen to that marvolus, God given, voice.
I have her fist Cd/dvd and can’t wait for more from her. I played her cd every day for at least 3 weeks…….Can’t get enought of that beautiful voice………
I wish I could have been at the Museum to watch her give us her rendition of those beautiful songs.
With David Foster in her corner, or at the panio, she can look forward to very long and rewarding career.
Thank you Jackie, for wanting to share your beautiful gift with us.
    Love and Light to you,
    Patti

I am watching it now and this kid is just BLOWING my mind…WHAT a VOICE!! Such an amazing young girl…i hope they don’t push her too hard in the coming years. I wish her much luck & happiness in her singing career..

  • Shar

I totally agree. She is in such good hands with David Foster!

  • Shar

Wow! I wish I could have been there!

  • Shar

I totally agree. We should start a fan club!

  • Linda Z.

Her voice is a blessing to the whole world. To see it soaring from the throat of such a young soul is achingly poignant.

  • Linda Z.

    C’est vrai!

  • Ted Holland

Each time I hear Jackie, I am amazed at her technicality, perfect pitch and quality of her sound. It makes me feel good to know there are children in our day that strive for excellence. Suberb job, Jackie.

  • Karen LF

I followed Jackie on America’s Got Talent last year, and although she was the runner up, she is a winner in every way and all of America’s hearts. This young lady sends chills through any human with her expertise way of singing and makes our hearts race to hear even more. She is a truly blessed angel, and we all wish her so many years of greatness. David Forester is an icon who brought so many young, talented singers into our homes through PBS, I am so greatful to him and PBS.

  • Saguache

Proof that there are angles among us.

  • Gwytha

Jackie’s rendition of THE LORD’S PRAYER was so beautiful. I have never heard it sung more beautifully than her. Truely an angel! She enjoys singing – and she enjoys being a child. Her parents are watching out for her. David Foster will also watch out for her. I look forward to watching her as she grows and her career grows.

  • JOHN S MATERKA

I AM 92 YRS OLD AND AM GLAD TO HAVE LIVED TO SEE AND HEAR JACKIE SING..
I LISTEN TO OTHER GREAT SINGERS THAT ARE MUCH OLDER AND JACKIE WILL SOON BE ON TOP WITH
THEM…I PLAY HER SONGS REPEATEDLY WITH A PLEASURE THAT IS HARD TO DESCRIBE..
    GO…JACKIE…GO

  • Stephen

I agree with the comment submitted by Orfield.
I don’t want to take away from those who enjoyed this. Jackie has an amazing voice and an uncanny ability to understand and interpret music, and there is every reason to believe that she is going to be one of the great musicial artists of this century.
But this is an emotionally mature song with complex lyrics and she does not have the life experience to understand or relate to things like regret, loss, longing and addiction…
better to leave this in the hands of Sarah McLachlan.

  • Ken

Hogwash! since when has it been a requirement of a singer to understand what they are singing to express the emotion they feel! As long as they have an idea. Countless vocalists and choirs have done this for hundreds of years! That is an inaccurate statement!

  • cttransit492

    I like this song!

  • Patrick

I’ve seen yet another miracle. Jackie Evancho was created by the same God who made me 81 years ago in a hick town in Wisconsin. Heaven help them in Washington who have the free will to destroy our country. I will pray for them, not judge them…..That’s only God’s pay-grade, and He will win despite the Elite non-believers who for a few brief earth-moments will make a folly of the use of the word Elite !! They’re wearing the Emperor’s clothes for now, and have only hate and fear-mongering inside. Sing, Jackie, sing !!!!

  • Donald S.

The voice and image of this young singer brings tears to my old eyes and trembles to my old heart. I thank her and all those who helped make possible her performances. It is overwhelming, to realize that listeners all over the globe are able to experience these digital presentations, made possible by clever engineers and technicians, at such little cost to individuals like me. What a wonderful time we live in!

  • Judy A

Amazing performances and so early in her lifetime. Praying that folks like David Foster keep her best interest at the forefront of her life, stressing that she must love to sing and sing to love! We love her for sharing her talent with us.

  • Judy A

    in response to Stephen
“But this is an emotionally mature song with complex lyrics and she does not have the life experience to understand or relate to things like regret, loss, longing and addiction…”
Keep in mind the listener may be the one with the life experience that relates to the song rather than the singer.

  • Judy A

Was hoping she would sing Ave Maria on the program as well, but she did not.
(My second most favorite soprano performence.)

  • cttransit492

I like this song! This song by Jackie Evancho shows for The 2011 Japan Earthquake. It was a success song!

  • Antonio Casolino

You are bless my child with you voice !

  • JUDE

SHE HAS THE BEST IN DAVID FOSTER…AT HER AGE SHE IS EXTROARDINARY, BUT TO CONTINUE TO BE THE BEST, SOMEONE HAS TO WORK WITH HER ON HER DICTION….IF YOU LISTEN TO HER PERFORMANCES…CLOSE YOUR EYES AND LISTEN TO THE WORDS…THERE ARE TIMES WHEN YOU CAN’T UBDERSTAND WHAT SHE IS SAYING….
GOOD LUCK IN ALL OF YOUR INDEVERSE LITTLE ONE!!!!!!!!!

  • Brenjamin

The only thing, in my opinion, in this comment that is relevent to Jackie Evancho’s singing is the last three words, “Sing, Jackie, sing!!!!” Please in the future, publish your soapbox comments in a poltical forum, not here!

  • Paul H

I was going thru the channels looking for the football games and i heard this fantastic voice i had to leave the channel on. I never would have dreamed it was from this wonderfully tallented young person. She truly is gifted. Angel was beautiful, I always relate it to Sara M. the humane society spokesperson. Such a great talent . Hope it stays with her.

Hi. Cool post. There is a problem with your site in firefox, and you may want to test this… The browser is the marketplace leader and a large section of people will omit your great writing due to this problem.

  • Cheryl

She’s lovely in every way. What a talent. I especially like that her clothing and make-up are age-appropriate and modest. A rar thing in our age of prematurely sexualized “pop tarts.”

  • Canadian

    Weirdest thing I’ve ever seen!
Watching Jackie now on PBS…but it’s OUT OF SYNC or something?
Is she lip synching? It sure looks like it…..either that or this is an out of sync
    show.

Something is wrong with this broadcast on PBS.
Oh and to the dude in the thread who said “Indeverse”….the word is
    “endeavours”. Spell much ???????? lol

  • lailie

I love her voice the way she sings its beautiful and a young singer.

  • Robert Janke

I have been checking and don’t see any mention of a 2013 Great Performances Concert by Jacki Evancho. It seems to me that the first two were so poplar it would be given that there will be 3rd. Perhaps her fans could start writing to Public Broadcasting and express our interest.. It could be Jacki since she has such an extreme amount of demand for her , if that is the reason I can accept it.

There just has to be enough fan support to move this mountain.

  • Janie S.

    Hey Patrick,
Continue to plant the seed, Benjamin is hungry for the truth too.

  • Ruben A.

Some people are great because they are good. Others are great because they are gifted. Jackie is gifted. She sings from the soul. I am lucky to have lived long enough to experience this rare gift. A gift such as this only comes along once in a life time. You do not have to be religious to see that God lives in this young girl. Her parents must be shining examples of great parents. WELL DONE, THOU FAITHFUL SERVANTS.

  • Carol S

She is God’s Angel from heaven. Her heavenly voice when she sings is mezmerizing. What a wonderful gift this little girl has……God Bless you Jackie……

  • Bernard Weera

She is definitely an Angel from heaven.
