Kim rocks!!!!
I read your piece on Paul Simon and found it somewhat by chance. I am not familiar with your work but I enjoyed this article. I grew up in the 60’s and always had a facination with his gifts and talents as a song writer. It is interesting that he(PS) has been on somewhat of a spiritual journey for some time. For whatever reason, he comes to mind often and I pray for him. If you ever come in contact with him again please let him know there is someone in Texas prays for him !!
Blessings…….
Kim
I just listened to the Feb 10th podcast and must disagree with your assertion that although 98% of Catholic women practice birth control we did not support Obama’s call for the affiliate institutions of the Catholic Church to offer contraception to its employees. My friends and I (8 of us) all active Catholics (I sing every Sunday, have been co chair of the parish council, headed the youth group and taught religious education) were appalled that Obama backed down. In fact when Dolan’s letter was read that next Sunday we all walked out of the Church. None of us care really what our bishops and Cardinals think. After the pedophile scandal they lost all credibility with most of the people I know. We support gay marriage, married and female priests and contraception. I know my pastor well and so does he. He is sad the the church is focusing on such trivial matters instead of the true mission of the Church- to spread love and justice to all peoples of the world.
I do love the program and listen to it every week on itunes. Your stories are wonderful and thought provoking.
