Plans are being completed for President Obama’s second inaugural, but controversy has already prompted a change. Atlanta evangelical pastor Louie Giglio was selected to give the benediction, but he bowed out after some activist groups criticized a sermon he gave in the 1990s against homosexuality. Giglio said he didn’t want the uproar to become a distraction.

As he did four years ago, President Obama will use Abraham Lincoln’s Bible when he takes the oath of office. And this time he will also use a Bible of Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. 2013 marks the 50th anniversary of King’s March on Washington and the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation.
