The plan for rebuilding at Ground Zero includes several multi-use buildings. Like the twin towers, the Freedom Tower, seen in the above rendering, will preside over the new World Trade Center complex. Designed by architect David Childs, the skyscraper will become the nation's tallest building upon its scheduled completion in 2011. Childs also designed 7 World Trade Center, which opened in May 2006 — the first building to be rebuilt near Ground Zero.
