Housing Barrack, Detail
A close-up of the barrack plan reveals an interesting historical detail.
As shown on the image's far right, the barrack was originally intended to hold 550 men. Karl Bischoff, chief of the Auschwitz building office, revised that number, deciding that each barrack could hold 744 men.
