Edward James studied history as an undergraduate at Christ Church, Oxford, and
then continued his education at St. Andrews University, where he studied
International Security Studies as a postgraduate. He has worked as a
journalist and researcher for the Daily Telegraph, The Daily Mail, and The
Times. He now works as a lawyer at Linklaters and Alliance, London.
Professor Stanley Weintraub
Stanley Weintraub is Evan Pugh Professor Emeritus of Arts and Humanities at the
Pennsylvania State University. Among his books are biographies of such Victorian
and post-Victorian figures as Victoria herself, Prince Albert, Edward VII (as
the Prince of Wales), Disraeli, the Rossettis, Whistler, Beardsley, Shaw, and
Lawrence of Arabia. His newest book from this group is Edward the
Caresser (on Edward VII). His next book, out in November, will be Silent
Night: The Remarkable Christmas Truce of 1914.
