And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.

I imagine God to be like a sweet, wise grandfather. Someone who when you get to the gates of Heaven welcomes you with open arms and assures you that everything will be OK. When I talk to God at night, or in times of need, this is how I picture him. My God definitely wears glasses.

More to me at certain times than others. I know I could do a better job of practicing my faith. I wish I made more time and space for it. When I go to church I am filled with emotion. It's almost overwhelming. I leave feeling centered and peaceful. I don't know why I don't do it consistently. Sometimes I feel there's just too much other stuff to do. And that is a lame excuse.
The biggest misconception about my faith/belief system is ...

If you have children, did becoming a parent change your relationship to faith? If so, how?

It only served to solidify my faith. I want my children to be raised Catholic, too. If they decide to be something else as adults, I will support them in that decision. But as children, I feel they need some spiritual and religious guidance. I love to hear my 6-year-old say Grace before dinner.

The crucifix at the top of the stairs. It's small and beautiful and was a gift to my first baby at Baptism.
Religion & the Public Square
Should courses about religion be taught in public schools? Why or why not?

Yes. Because Americans are ignorant when it comes to religion. They criticize faiths they know nothing about because they were never taught about them.
