Hofmann spends the summer as guest instructor at the Thurn School of Art in Gloucester, Massachusetts. In the fall the Hans Hofmann School of Fine Arts opens in New York. With encouragement from Mercedes Matter, he begins to paint again with after a prolonged period of drawing. |
