The Filmmakers
Lawrence
Hott, producer, director, has made PBS
documentary and feature films for the past twenty
years.
Allen
Moore, cinematographer, has worked with Larry
Hott since 1987, and was principal cinematographer
for Hott's The Adirondacks, The Wilderness Idea,
and Wild by Law.
Michael
Chin, cinematographer, has worked on several
productions with Hott, including The People's
Plague: Tuberculosis in America and The
Boyhood of John Muir.
Diane
Garey, editor, doesn't go out on production
because she does not wish to carry heavy equipment.
"A film editor gets to play with words, pictures
and music," she says. "It's a lot more fun than
carrying a forty-pound tripod through the woods."
Since 1990, she has been the principal editor for
Florentine Films/Hott Productions, Inc.
Stephen
McCarthy, is a
Boston-based cinematographer whose work ranges from short
segments for "Sesame
St." to serving as Director of Photography on documentary
films and television series for PBS, HBO, BBC-TV and others.
These include the 1997 Peabody Award-winning PBS series "Vote
for Me!" and MTV's "The Real World – Boston." Mr.
McCarthy's most recent work includes films for PBS’s “NOVA" and “The
American Experience” series as well as programs for
two upcoming Discovery Channel series: “Extreme Engineering” and “Inventing
the Past.” He has also recently completed work on
an upcoming documentary on access to college in America
for PBS.
