Educator Voice: Tips for teaching history in today's political environment

Jessica Ellison has recently taken over as executive director of the National Council for History Education (NCHE). In this interview, she tells Sari Beth Rosenberg about her work to come at NCHE, the value of historical societies and teacher partnerships and advice for teachers and parents who are uncertain about the current education environment.

This interview is part of a series of interviews conducted at the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS) hosted its 103rd annual conference in Philadelphia in December 2022. Educators and historians discussed an array of issues about teaching social studies, history, media literacy and more.
