The 2024 Invention Convention Worldwide held at the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation in Dearborn, Mich., has concluded, but students' invention stories as well as those by innovators like Jay Flores, founder of Invent the Change and "It's Not Magic, It's Science" continue on!
At last year's Invention Convention, NewsHour Classroom interviewed Flores about his methods of teaching STEM to students by finding ways of connecting it to their passions. He tries to ensure equity in education by finding easy-to-use activities to teach concepts.
Check out the video of Flores discussing his teaching above, or this clip of him discussing the widespread possibilities of the brainstorming process below. Fun fact: Flores appeared on NBC's American Ninja Warrior!
