Summary

A Grand Rapids, Michigan police officer has been put on paid leave after killing a Black man who tried to flee a traffic stop April 4. Patrick Lyoya, a 26-year old Congolese immigrant, was shot in the head during a struggle with the officer. Protests erupted in the city Wednesday after a video of the incident was released.
