The media changes its mind again, and moves Florida from the Bush column back to undecided. Gore calls Governor Bush to take back his concession. The vice president leaves the War Memorial and sends Campaign Chairman William Daley to tell his supporters that the race is too close to call. The crowd roars as Daley announces that the Gore campaign will continue until Florida's results are official. Soon after, Bush Campaign Chairman Don Evans tells Bush supporters in Austin that he believes the final result will show Bush the winner. Because the results are so close, Florida law requires a recount. The presidency hangs in the balance.
