SERIES DESCRIPTION PBS's
SPACE STATION travels around the world, gaining unprecedented
access to meetings, facilities and pre-launch activities, to provide viewers
with a behind-the-scenes account of the development of the International
Space Station - the most ambitious and expensive project ever attempted
within or beyond the earth's atmosphere. In two 60-minute programs, viewers
will share in the surprises, challenges, the human ingenuity, debates,
tough decisions and even the disappointments of this monumental international
effort. SPACE STATION follows engineers, scientists, managers
and astronauts from NASA, as well as the Russian, Canadian, Japanese,
Brazilian and European space agencies as they navigate the financial,
technical and political challenges of the International Space Station.
Viewers will discover through their eyes how and why this project of immense
