Increased Risk of Disease
Mosquito bites can be more than just a nuisance. The bite of an invasive mosquito, the Asian tiger mosquito, can also be menacing and increase your risk of disease. Researchers suggest Asian tiger mosquitoes arrived in the United States in tires shipped from Asia. Hosting West Nile virus, these tiger mosquitoes started contributing to the rapid spread of West Nile throughout the country.
