We loaded up the RV and found the best places to see our country’s most iconic bird.

We started in Haines, Alaska... The Alaska Chilkat Eagle Preserve attracts around 4,000 bald eagles at a time!

Then on to Klamath Basin... On the border of Oregon and California, this spot has one of the highest concentration levels of wintering eagles in the lower 48 states.

Up next, just outside of Chicago, IL... Not too far of a drive from the big city, Starved Rock State Park is home to hundreds of bald eagles, especially when the weather cools down.

All the way down to Crystal River, FL... We camped at Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge and learned that lots of bald eagles come here seeking new food sources.

Last stop: Nebraska! We wrapped up our road trip in the western panhandle of the Cornhusker state, at the North Platte National Wildlife Refuge. Time to rest our own wings!

The only US state that doesn’t have bald eagles? Hawai’i!
