June 6, 1944:D-Day. Photographer Robert Capa shoots the only pictures of U.S. soldiers coming ashore at Omaha Beach. His three rolls of film are rushed to London for processing, where an over-eager darkroom technician dries the negatives too fast, ruining all but 10 frames.
