On this week’s Washington Week:

Heated Gun Debate:  Tempers flared in the halls of Congress this week over how to address gun violence following the deadly elementary school shooting in Nashville. President Biden and Democrats are calling for the assault weapons ban to be reinstated, as Republicans call any legislative action “premature”.

Culture Wars:  As Republicans dismiss calls for gun legislation at the federal level, the party is taking action in several states on a variety of cultural issues, including banning gender transition medical care for minors.

Joining guest moderator Lisa Desjardins to discuss this and more:

  1. Luke Broadwater, Congressional Reporter, The New York Times
  2. Domenico Montanaro, Senior Political Editor, NPR
  3. Ashley Parker, Senior National Political Correspondent, The Washington Post
