Coming up on Washington Week:
President Biden’s foreign and domestic priorities: President Biden is set to attend an important NATO summit in Lithuania aimed at expanding the number of countries in the security alliance and strengthening the group’s support for Ukraine. The meeting comes at a critical moment: The president is weighing supplying Ukraine with controversial weapons to aid its slow-going counteroffensive against Russia as a weakened Russian President Vladimir Putin attempts to project strength on the world stage after Yevgeny Prigozhin’s attempted mutiny.
But before leaving for Europe, President Biden took his economic case to South Carolina -- a 2024 early voting state in the Democratic primary -- with a speech touting new jobs and infrastructure investments. In the Republican race for the nomination, the feud between former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis flared up again, after his campaign attacked Trump over LGBTQ rights. And former Vice President Mike Pence, in front of a Trump-friendly crowd in Iowa, defended his actions on January 6th.
