This week on Washington Week:
Trump arrested and arraigned in DC: For the first time in our Nation’s history, a former American president has been criminally charged with trying to hold on to power after losing an election. On Thursday, Former President Donald Trump - and the current 2024 GOP presidential frontrunner - returned to the Nation’s capital as a criminal defendant. In a federal courthouse in Washington, DC, Trump plead not guilty to the most serious legal charges he currently faces relating to alleged efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election. Trump’s latest court appearance comes after Special Counsel Jack Smith on Tuesday announced his indictment on four felony counts; including conspiracy to defraud the U.S., witness tampering, attempt to obstruct an official proceeding and conspiracy against the rights of citizens.
