Losing Control
As Iran’s grip on the Strait of Hormuz continues to tighten, and the U.S. runs low on critical munitions, President Trump appears to have lost control over the widening war in the Middle East.
The unpopular war also looms over the upcoming midterm elections, causing Republican lawmakers to grapple with a conflict they were forced to fund, while new scandals that could threaten their slim House majority emerge.
Joining editor in chief of The Atlantic and moderator, Jeffrey Goldberg, to discuss this and more:
- Carl Hulse, Chief Washington Correspondent, The New York Times
- Zolan Kanno-Youngs, White House Correspondent, The New York Times
- Jonathan Karl, Chief Washington Correspondent, ABC News
- Missy Ryan, Staff Writer, The Atlantic
Major funding for Washington Week with The Atlantic is provided by Consumer Cellular, the Yuen Foundation, Sandra and Carl DeLay-Magnuson, Rose Hirschel and Andy Shreeves, Leonard and Norma Klorfine, Robert and Susan Rosenbaum, and PBS.
