Much of the rhetoric during the 2016 presidential election led to further fractures in an already deeply divided nation, but as Kathy and Ed told us in battleground state Colorado, Washington Week was the show to watch to step away from the noise and get “understanding without all the hype.” For 50 years, that’s been the mission of the program. Thanks for watching!

Kathy: I feel like it is a very calm, thoughtful discussion of what's happening particularly in Washington and in the country. And particularly in the midst of the extreme dialogue that we're hearing now, I feel like this is a way to really get some understanding without all the hype.
Ed: I feel that way as well, and what I like is that they take enough time with each story to really get some meat into it and some facts and not rush through it like you would expect to see it on the evening news on one of the major networks. So I think that's the thoughtful part that Kathy was talking about. The extra time that's taken to make sure that the understanding is really there.
