Episode 4 Journal
What did you think of today's challenge?
Very interesting how we were matched up with our dire opposite. It actually became a fun challenge.
What did you prepare today?
Lemon granita; tomato cigars; winery onion soup; salty baked salt steak; sugar plum crepes.
How do you think you did? Is there anything you wish you'd done better?
Our team work was good, presentation too. The final taste check was off, as we over salted our food.
What was the highlight of the day's events?
Definitely the Farmers Market. A lot of cool stuff there, although most of it is out of season.
Are there any lessons you took away from today?
Hustle is key, you just can't work fast enough when under that type of pressure.
What was the most constructive or interesting piece of feedback you heard from the judges?
They liked it when Katie told them that our granita/first course was to clean out their mouth from everyone else's stuff.
How do you think you are doing in relation to your fellow competitors?
Still holding it down. I think they like my adventurous side.
Who do you think is faring the best and why (we recognize this changes from day-to-day)?
I think Frenchy rocks. His age helps him with experience and collectiveness.
What do you think your fellow competitors think of you (we recognize this changes from day-to-day)?
They like my presenting style and leadership.
