- I've always wanted to be Jo.
(guitar music) To say that I am her, is sort of too proud a statement to make.
I couldn't possibly do such a thing.
But, she's definitely the sister that I connected to the most in reading the book and felt the most intimate with.
I got you!
(girls screaming and laughing) - I think on different days, I could be any one of them.
My main two, would probably be Beth and Jo.
I think I definitely have a Beth within me.
But, I probably live my life more day to day as Jo.
(gentle music) - I think that it's really hard to answer that question.
I've had so much champagne.
I've already started the headache I'll wake up with in the morning.
(sighs) Now that I've played Meg in all of her complexity, and she's now part of me, I think it would be impossible to say anyone other than Meg.
- When you read the book as a young woman, you think, I'm Jo.
I don't quite fit, I'm a bit special and I've got all these amazing ideas about what I want from life.
I read it as the age I am now, the mother of young children and go, I'm struggling with all these responsibilities and I used to be Jo.
What happened?
(laughs)
